What is Shaktipat?

By Yogiraj Nanak
The universe contains abundant energy intended for our use by the Supreme Consciousness, the macrocosm, or God. This energy is available in all the elements:
earth (soil), water, fire, air, sky (ethereal)
Out of all the energies, ethereal energy is subtlest and therefore the strongest. Every living form is utilizing a portion of these energies to some extent. An average person is utilizing this energy only in small quantity. That energy is what keeps us alive. However, if we can draw more energy from the macrocosm, our quality of life will automatically improve, depending on the amount of energy we can assimilate in our system.

- A Yogi has the capacity to draw abundant energy from the macrocosm. He/she has the capacity to transmit this energy to others to help purify their body and emotions, strengthen their will-power, and help them develop spiritually according to the individual's capacity and needs.
- This transmission of energy is called Shaktitpat. If this energy is transmitted through the eyes of a Yogi to the eyes of the recipient, this is known as Drishtipat.
